On the fourth Sunday of Advent, December 18, our choirs hosted their annual Christmas Music Service, during which the John Jose Handbell Choir, under the direction of Nancy Ferguson, presented the familiar Christmas selection "Were You There On That Christmas Night?

As the central theme for the service, the Senior Choir presented a Cantata entitled,
A NEW BIRTH - A NEW BEGINNING, written by John Purifoy.
"A Christmas Cantata Celebrating God's Promise Fulfilled"

This cantata featured 9 musical selections, linked together in a story format by verbal Narrations, as provided by volunteer narrators Melissa Preston and Bob Perry.

The musical selections were titled in order:
Prelude, A New Birth, A New Beginning, Servant of the Lord, And the Glory of the Lord, Song of the Shepherds, O Holy Night, Baby's Born, Hallelu!, In a Stable of Straw, and A New Birth, A New Beginning Reprise.

This cantata provided a thoughtful and pleasing approach to Christmas, and featured not only the full choir, but some former choir members along with some family members.
